Somatic Hatha Yoga

Joan’s Hatha Yoga is rooted in the teachings of Sri T. Krishnamacharya, Svastha yoga, It emphasizes the integration of body and mind through mindful breath and movement. A typical Hatha Yoga class involves slower-paced movements, with poses held for longer periods of time to build strength and flexibility while focusing on alignment and mindful breathing.

Ideal for those seeking a more meditative and gentle approach to yoga. The practice encourages listening to one’s body, avoiding overexertion, and fostering long-term health.

Joan provides a nurturing environment for you to explore your physical and emotional landscapes, “Somatic” refers to the experience of the body from within, emphasizing internal sensations and the deep connection.

Through self-inquiry, Mindful Awareness and compassion, this process of moving slowly and consciously to explore how your body feels helps you connect mind and body, embracing the idea that “the body keeps the score.” It gently guides you to uncover and release stored tensions and trauma.

Your teaching was profound. Direct, relaxed, so loose… We were heading for bliss. I felt a Supreme sense of joy during the session. Breathing and breathing… Words and communication left me in a state of silence, which I did not want to leave. Thank you so much for the experience
